This year's Embedded System Conference held in Boston was a surprising success. This was the first time that Matrix Orbital has attended ESC Boston and boy are we glad that we did. For those of you that are new to RoHS requirements for electronics, here is some information we've compiled to help you better understand these new changes. The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

Instead we'll be occuping booth #4713 at the EDS Conference being held at the Paris Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. EDS is the annual meeting-place and marketplace for the global community of manufacturers of electronic components, instruments and accessories and the electronic distributors and manufacturers' representatives through whom these products are brought to market. Using the same daughterboard as the LKVK202-25/LKVK204-25 Series, Matrix Orbital has been able to create a USB version of this board, thereby standardizing their product line, decreasing the cost to customers, and offering an improved product.
